Gaming giant Ubisoft will hold a free Ethereum non-fungible token (NFT) mint for its upcoming game Champions Tactics.
On November 16, the company revealed “The Warlords PFP Collection” on Twitter.
It urged gamers to follow, like, retweet, and comment if they wish to join the first Ubisoft free mint on Ethereum.
The creator of Assassin’s Creed said that Champions Tactics is a Web3 PvP Tactical RPG set in the dark world of Grimoria.
Ubisoft plans to launch the game on PC early next year. There will be a free Champions drop at launch, per the FAQ page.
According to the official website, a Warlord is a unique digital collectible that serves as a profile picture (PFP). Each one also gives its owner early access to the mint of the in-game playable figurines called Champions.
Should there be unclaimed Warlords at the end of the mint, they will be put in a Treasury Vault for future community rewards.
To claim a Warlord, participants must have a Ubisoft account and a compatible wallet (Metamask or Face Wallet) with enough ETH to pay the fee.
Speaking of which, claiming a Warlord is free, but gas fees do apply.
After minting a Warlord, owners will see a placeholder on the OpenSea marketplace or in the wallet due to “a delayed Reveal.”
The Reveal will happen after all Warlords have been minted or at the end of the Public Mint “to ensure an equitable distribution.”
There will be two phases of the mint.
The Private Mint will be accessible to users who were selected for the Dark List (Grim Guardians, OG Champions, and Champions) and will last 8 hours.
A 24-hour public mint will follow, accessible to all, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Per the FAQ, players can mint 2-4 Warlords depending on their user tier.
During the Private Mint, Champions, OG Champions, and Grim Guard can mint up to 2, 3, and 4 Warlords, respectively.
Public mint participants can claim up to 2 Warlords.
